I hope to convey a perspective and use a format in order to make the more technical aspects of the topic easier to understand.
Some people get frustrated, angry or stop listening when tech folks appear to talk above their knowledge level.
On a daily basis I have to explain very technical topics to non-technical people. Over the years I have found using metaphors or big picture examples they may already be familiar with helps in the conversation.
I said earlier in this post I give public presentations. One of my primary topic areas is the Internet. I have a presentation when I explain TCP/IP ( Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol ) packet flow by comparing it to world wide inter-modal cargo shipments and the almost ubiquitous cargo container. Most people have seen a cargo container on a train, a truck or maybe on a large cargo container ship. The connection is immediate.
Enough with the introduction. Time to start blogging.
